A little about me and my art:

 

 

 

 

 

 My name is Maryna, i came to Canada a few years ago from Ukraine and now i am living in

inspirational Quebec city by St-Lawrence river with my husband and a cat :).

 

Needless to say that as a girly girl i was always fascinated with beautiful dolls,

I didn't have many dolls and didn't have any special talent in dressing them up,

it is not up till a few years ago that i discovered the special gift i had, and that explained to me

why i was always head in the clouds, dreamy and at times odd - I was an artist.

 

I believe it was in 2005 that i first picked up a piece of clay and made my first One

of a kind doll, she wasn't beautiful of course but i was very proud that i could make something like that.

I came long ways since than and improved a lot, i am still learning and looking for new challenges.

I consider my self very lucky and successful as an artist, i think of how many very talented artist

don't get to sell their hard work. It is not often that you can say that your work is your life's passion.

I can't think of anything that i rather do more.

 

My first Ball jointed doll came to life in autumn of 2009, i think i never had so much fun playing

with a doll.There is something amazing about the BJD ,they can move,

kneel, lay down, they can be sexy can be sweet, its like if they had a personality of their own...

They do belong with you and they become what you want them to be.

 

In my style i like the innocent and natural look, in life i don't like anything that is fake,

from inner to outer self everything that is true is beautiful to me.

My dolls often get the personality they want, i don't usually fight it i let them be, some people like them

some don't, i try not to get influenced i have to keep true to my style and ideas because after all i

do it for my pleasure.
